HÀ NỘI — Vietnamese female rapper Nguyễn Thúy Hằng, aka Hằng Kani or LiL’kAnI, has released a music video in response to the ResiliArt Movement launched by UNESCO amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Entitled Chẳng Thể Cách Ly (No Yourantine), the Hiphop/R&B song was composed by LiL’kAnI and Duy Anh, aka DOesn't K, in early March 2020. Based on a true story of a female nurse called Ly and the dream of reuniting the whole family after the pandemic is controlled, it is expected to support the spirit of the doctors and medical staff fighting the virus on the frontlines.

The music video was also made with the support of 20 people including producers, directors, cameramen and lighting staff, in addition to 12 influential faces in various fields like People’s Artist Lê Khanh, film director Nguyễn Hoàng Điệp and basketball player Henry Nguyễn.

On 15 April, UNESCO called on artists globally to join a movement – ResiliArt – that aims to raise awareness on the impact of COVID-19 on all fields.

In addition, it raises awareness about the far-reaching ramifications of the pandemic across the sector and aims at supporting artists during and following the crisis.

Specifically, the campaign encourages the artists and people in creative industries to post stories, photos and videos on social networks like Facebook, Instagram or Twitter to connect with the public during the crisis caused by COVID-19.

Via the works, the artists aim to spread the message that art is synonymous with resilience; the epidemic crisis is the moment when the art reveals its resilience and sustainability, exploiting the power of the inherent creativity.
