HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam lost to Australia 2-0 to become runners-up at the AFF U18 Women’s Championship on Thursday.

The Vietnamese side entered the game confidently and put pressure on their opponents in the first half, but they could not get a goal.

Australia then gradually gained dominance to take the lead in the 40th minute, thanks to the good work of Sienna Saveska.

In the second half, the Australian team continued to play better, and Mary Stanic-Floody doubled the score for her team in the 52nd minute.

In the remaining minutes of the match, Việt Nam tried their best but could not hit their opponent’s net and accepted the 2-0 loss

In the third place match, the Thais beat Myanmar 2-0.

At the same event held in Thailand eight years ago, Việt Nam finished second after losing to the hosts, Thailand, in the final. VNS
