HCM CITY — HCM City will host Miss Charm International 2020, the first competition of its kind in the world, in early January.

Miss Charm International is an international beauty pageant organised by the Hong Kong-based Miss Charm International Organisation.

The event will attract participants who have won beauty contests from more than 40 countries and territories. The spirit, intelligence and talent of women will be highlighted.

The selection rounds for the Vietnamese representative, organised by Elite Việt Nam, began on Monday and will close in November.

The jury includes Lan Khuê, Miss Áo Dài (Vietnamese Dress) Việt Nam 2015, and Mai Ngô, runner-up at The Face Việt Nam 2016.

The Vietnamese representative and other contestants will attend the contest’s semi-final and final rounds scheduled from January 3 to 16.

They will compete in the categories of traditional costumes, swimsuits, question-and-answer sessions, and eveningwear.

They will also take part in additional competitions highlighting their talent and charity work.

“We hope Miss Charm International 2020 will encourage young women to demonstrate their talents in various professions and charity and social activities,” said jury member Khuê. — VNS
