Vietnam records 34,138 new Covid cases
The three localities with the highest numbers of cases are Hanoi with 2,202 cases, Yen Bai with 1,608 cases and Vinh Phuc with 954 cases, all in northern Vietnam.
26 deaths were added to the national database on Saturday, raising the death toll since the start of the pandemic to 42,794 deaths, around 0.4 percent of all infections.
80.1 percent of Vietnam's population have been fully vaccinated, while 53.2 percent have received their third Covid-19 vaccine shots.
