Vietnam records over 65,000 new Covid infections

Health authorities confirmed 65,616 new Covid-19 cases Saturday, pushing the country's infection tally during the fourth coronavirus wave to over 9.63 million.

The three localities with the highest number of cases are Hanoi with 7,423, Dak Lak with 3,999 and Nghe An with 2,911.

37 deaths confirmed on Saturday took the pandemic’s death toll in Vietnam to 42,563, or 0.4 percent of the total infections.

HCMC, the southern metropolis, reported 746 cases the same day.

Vietnam has administered more than 206 million Covid-19 vaccine doses so far.
