There were 3,717 new COVID-19 infections reported across Việt Nam on Sunday, as the number of daily cases fell by nearly half in just a week.

HÀ NỘI – There were 3,717 new COVID-19 infections reported across Việt Nam on Sunday, as the number of daily cases fell by nearly half in just a week.
In the past seven days, the country had an average of 6,552 new daily infections. This number was 11,593 a week ago.
All of the new infections were domestic. A total of 2,597 transmissions were detected in the community.
The capital city Hà Nội still tops the list with 795 new cases, followed by Nghệ An Province with 210 and Yên Bái with 200.
The other transmissions were found in Quảng Ninh (198), Phú Thọ (170), Tuyên Quang (161), Hưng Yên (150), Gia Lai (134), Thái Nguyên (127), Thái Bình (123), Lào Cai (121), Vĩnh Phúc (98), Bắc Kạn (91), Quảng Bình (89), Nam Định (77), Lâm Đồng (76), Bắc Giang (73), Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu (58), Cao Bằng (57), Lạng Sơn (53), Đà Nẵng (51), Quảng Trị (49), Sơn La (47), HCM City (42), Thanh Hóa (42), Lai Châu (40), Bình Phước (35), Hà Nam (33), Bình Thuận (31), Hòa Bình (29), Hà Giang (28), Bình Định (26), Hải Dương (22), Phú Yên (21), Đắk Nông (19), Điện Biên (18), Hải Phòng (17), Tây Ninh (16), Quảng Ngãi (15), Quảng Nam (14), Kiên Giang (11), Bến Tre (8 ), Thừa Thiên Huế (8 ), Vĩnh Long (6), Cà Mau (6), Bình Dương (5), Trà Vinh (4), Cần Thơ (4), Hậu Giang (3), Khánh Hòa (2), Bạc Liêu (2), Long An (1), and An Giang (1).
The national caseload since the start of the pandemic now stands at 10,653,526.
Only one COVID-related death was recorded on Sunday, in Bến Tre Province.
The total number of COVID-related fatalities in Việt Nam is now 43,042, or 0.4 per cent of total infections.
There are 475 COVID patients nationwide requiring oxygen support, with 36 needing invasive ventilation. Two are on life support.
A further 2,111 patients were given the all-clear, taking the total number of recoveries to 9,264,366.
Nearly 215 million COVID-19 vaccine shots have been administered in the country to date, of which 1,521,234 doses have been given to children aged 5 to 11.
