BÌNH PHƯỚC — Japfa Comfeed Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Japfa Vietnam) has donated medical equipment, including dialysis machines, handheld X-Ray machines and oxygen ventilators, to the COVID-19 Quarantine Area and Field Hospital of Bình Phước Province on October 13.

The donation is part of the feed-and-farm company's community support activities in response to the COVID-19 pandemic in Việt Nam.

“As an enterprise with several investment and trading projects in Bình Phước Province, we want to support the local authorities and the community. In response to an appeal from the People’s Committee of Bình Phước Province, we have donated medical equipment to the field hospital to enable the treatment for patients,” said Arif Widjaja, General Director of Japfa Vietnam.

On the 17th anniversary of the Vietnam Entrepreneurs’ Day, Trần Tuệ Hiền, Chairwoman of the People’s Committee of Bình Phước Province, extended her gratitude to Japfa Vietnam.

The Bình Phước Province’s Quarantine Area and Field Hospital has 1,000 beds for quarantining patients and 300 beds for treatment. The facility is in charge of receiving, separating, and caring for COVID-19 patients from Long Bình Municipality and Hớn Quản, Lộc Ninh and Bù Đốp districts. The hospital is on standby to receive patients from other localities, if needs be.

Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Japfa Vietnam has donated over 11 tonnes of chicken, nearly one tonne of pork and 128,000 chicken eggs worth nearly VNĐ800 million to help those fighting the pandemic on the front line. In June of this year, the company donated US$1 million (approximately VNĐ23 billion) to the COVID-19 Vaccine Fund.

Japfa entered Việt Nam in 1996 through a joint venture with the Vietnam Livestock Corporation. In 1999, Japfa became a wholly foreign-invested company – Japfa Comfeed Vietnam Limited Liability Company – headquartered in Vĩnh Phúc Province.

The company is now operating six feed production factories, over 300 poultry and livestock farms and a network of 30 stores selling meat and processed foods under the brand name of Japfa Best. The company employs over 5,500 skilled employees. Japfa will soon expand into animal husbandry in Việt Nam.
