Dollar rises against dong
The U.S. dollar slightly gained over the Vietnamese dong Thursday afternoon but slipped at unofficial exchange points.
Vietcombank sold the dollar at VND23,820 Thursday, up 0.29% from Wednesday.
Eximbank sold the greenback at VND23,770, up 0.04%.
The rate at Techcombank is VND23,820, up 0.23%, and at ACB is VND23,850, down 0.21%.
The State Bank of Vietnam set its reference rate at VND23,617, down 0.01%.
The greenback is sold at VND23,820 on the black market, down 0.63%.
The dollar has risen by 3.93% over the dong since the beginning of the year.
The U.S. Dollar Index, which measures the greenback’s strength against major currencies, stabilized at around 104.27 points.
