In August alone, tuna exports were worth US$92 million, a year-on-year surge of 86%. Shipments to major markets including the U.S., the EU, Canada, Japan, Saudi Arabia and Thailand increased sharply last month.

To date, Vietnam has exported tuna to 97 foreign countries and territories, accounting for some 10% of its total

Vietnam’s tuna export turnover is expected to reach US$1.1 billion this year, up 45% over 2021, the association estimates.
